Reading Buddies - Metrotown

Reading Buddies is a program where teens and children are paired up for one-on-one reading in a safe, fun and friendly environment. The goals of this program are to provide children with extra reading practice and to provide teens with leadership skills and an opportunity to engage with community.

The Metrotown branch will be hosting Reading Buddies Thursdays, July 6 – August 3 from 1 – 2:30pm. Teens are expected to attend all five session.

Interested teens should submit their applications by Thursday, June 1 to any Burnaby Public Library information desk. Application forms are available to print here. Successful applicants will be invited to attend an interview at the Metrotown branch. Interviews will take place Thursday, June 8 from 4 – 6pm and Friday, June 9 from 4 – 6pm.

Successful applicants are expected to attend a mandatory training Thursday, June 15 from 4 - 6pm at the Metrotown branch.
