Join author Katrina Chen to discuss her new book, "A Stronger Home," a picture book that raises awareness about family violence through a child’s perspective, inspiring empathy, safety and hope.

Katrina and representatives from Vancouver & Lower Mainland Multicultural Family Support Services Society, BC Society of Transition Houses and Ending Violence Association of BC will participate in a panel to discuss the book and to answer questions. This program is intended for those working with children and families.

Katrina is a former Burnaby MLA and Minister of State for Child Care. She currently serves as President of 安信 Community Savings Credit Union and is a certified coach and advocate for childcare, education and equity.

Connecting to the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an annual campaign that runs from November 25 to December 10, this event offers a space to reflect and call for action to end gender-based violence and the importance of building homes and communities where everyone feels safe.

As organizations across BC, take this opportunity to specifically highlight the issue of partner violence (IPV), this gathering will offer an insightful moment to address the devasting impacts that gender-based violence has on women and children, brough to life this time through the story of a mother and her son as they embark on a journey of healing and hope. This space will also serve as a reminder of the vital role that advocacy and ongoing support have in helping survivors navigate healing and rebuild their lives.
