This event is in the past
Rocks have thousands of years of wisdom to share about Mother Earth. Indigenous people have always had a history of sharing wisdom or ancestral knowledge and teachings from generation to generation.
The Métis people are known for amazing beadwork. In this session, learn the art of dot painting, a form of painting that emulates Métis beadwork, done on grandfather rocks. During this activity, stories will be shared about the Métis People, their culture and artwork. Participants will be encouraged to give their creation to someone important to them and share something that they have learned about the Métis people.
Presented by Lorelei Lyons, Indigenous educator with 2 Métis Women, and a knowledge carrier for North Fraser Métis Association.
For adults ages 18 and up.
