Are you a writer who wants to take your characters to another time and place? Do you want to create an immersive experience filled with historically correct details?
In this workshop led by Deer Lake writer-in-residence Micah Killjoy, you’ll learn about historic world building, the basics of online historical research and how to access local archives. Please bring your own laptop or device.

Micah Killjoy was born and raised on Coast Salish land. They were a mentee in 2021's Pitch Wars, and a runner up for the PEN New Voices award. They have been a reader and reviews editor at Room feminist literary magazine since 2019. When they're not writing, they're a literacy educator operating out of East Vancouver, BC.
